Save Scumming
I've had to reload from save dozens of times and I'm not even very far. Is this normal?

One problem I had was the Skullz gang in Junktown decided to aggro me on sight, and if I wipe them out then the Junktown guards are hostile. I eventually gave up trying to figure this out and am just avoiding their hideout so as not to trigger the entire Junktown becoming hostile. Luckily I saved before aggroing them. Seems unfair to me that I walk in view of their hideout without a weapon and they try to kill me and my group, but when I fight back the town decides I'm the one that needs to die.

Is this kind of save scumming normal and intended for playing Fallout? Or am I supposed to only reload when my PC dies? I've never reloaded from save so much in a game before.

Talk to the door watcher of the skulz gang

My question isn't how to solve a specific quest, but a larger question on how people play Fallout. Would most people reload from save to stop Junktown from being hostile if they triggered the quest as I have? Or should I only reload when my PC dies?

I talked to her once, but nothing came of our conversation. Now she attacks me on sight. I think the problem is that afterward I went to the bar and egged the Skullz guy on, but then I helped kill him when he opened fire. It makes sense the Skullz wouldn't like me after that. But they get to shoot me on sight and if I defend myself the guards come after me?!

Heres a walkthrough of the quest.
Thanks, but I don't want to spoil the whole thing on my first play through.

It's fine to save scum in this kind of game. Save always.
-Save before a travel
-Save before a combat
-Save before talking to someone
Always save especially it is your first time.
Ideally you will finish the game and then you will replay it with a different character and maybe you will not need to savescum the next time. You could even try an iron man gameplay if you have the balls.

Thank you for the confirmation. I usually frown upon save scumming, but this game seems to be an exception because of the ease with which you can completely ruin things, at least on your first time playing.
