Katja won't attack or use any weapons that I have given her

As the title of the post suggests I have given Katja a Ripper for her to use in combat, but not only will she not use it, but she refuses to attack at all, only doing so when she has throwing knives. But that is also rare even though I have given her a surplus of them. I have also used all the dialogue options with her, even the retarded holster your weapons one, but she still refuses to do anything.
