I think Mentats are bugged

OK i'm level 1 in INTEL but when took them it got me up to level 3 but i still couldn't form a sentence, is that normal. Also does it ware of completely cuz it says on wiki that after a 4 days it comes back.

All chems have short lasting, non-permanent buffing effects and longer debuff periods where you're at negative stats. If you get addicted, the debuffs last longer, and there are other side effects. Getting to 3 or 4 INT, depending on who you're talking to, should let you communicate normally, to a point.

Whoever you're talking to might require more than one dose. You can take 3 doses of any chem before they stop having further effects, so try that.

You'd have no use for it because your INT is too low to access speech options.

One last Question is the only way to throw a flare's is at an enemy, kinda would like to be able to throw it where i aim, i have it lit tho.

With gain intelligence and the brotherhood of steel brain surgery, you can add +2 to INT in total, but that's it.

just start a new character if you are only at shady sands, you dont have much to redo then (dont know where you got mentats that early though)

if you leave the cave, then go 1 square out on the map then go back to vault 13. You can go up to the command center and go to the lockers where the water is, and the mentats are in one of the lockers.
