How long is the Classic Fallout Game?

I know that the game takes place over something like 150 in-game-days. But what I want to know is how many locations, main story quests, and side quests are there? And is it possible to 100% complete the game in such a short time?

That limit is just for turning in the chip and isn't the whole main quest. So just focus on getting it then you have plenty of time to do the rest.

in the hub you can also send water to the vault and that will add 100 days but since you reveal your vaults location there is high risk in it

^This. Fallout 1 is actually very short. But I don't think you can complete everything there is to do in one playthrough given that their are multiple ways to beat the game and several sidequests.

For example, the final boss can literally be talked down or you can just opt for the traditional "shoot everyone" route.

But its not a long game. Can be beaten in a day or 2.

As stated above. there are several ways to play and get different results/story arcs. The first time I played it, I tried to do some exploring before I finished the last mission, and I think I only had around 30-36 hours played (roughly. They didn't keep track of those things back then).
