Waiting for everyone in a fight
Why? I'm at the part of the game where we're raiding adytown and i've got to wait for literally everyone to use their action points, which takes about 3 minutes. I had to load a save game so i wouldnt have to put up with this. Why does this exist?

IIRC, that is how combat is resolved in both F1 and F2. These are old games.
However, you may speed it up a bit:
go to Options in the main menu or Preferences in game and set the scroll for Combat Speed at the top right corner to the fastest possible. Also click on "Affect Player Speed" check mark below.

It is fast, however the shooting animations remain the same (about 2 or 3 seconds) and when there are about 30 fighters in one screen it takes a long time. Sure some of them dont fight and just walk around but it still bugs the hell out of me

No other ideas, sorry. May you get used to it and kill everyone quickly :)

Right, thanks

I've googled a mod for F1 named Sfall: it allows speeding up combat up to x10. I've never tried it myself, however, so I have no idea how it works, does it speed up shooting anims, etc.

Check it here - https://falloutmods.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_1_Mods - the uppermost link in Active Projects.

What town are you raiding again? Pretty sure there is no way to get that many enemies in a fight unless you are attacking civilians, and in turn being attacked by security and everyone else.

I didnt count them but it seemed like there were that many at least, so i may be wrong. It was adytown
There are 5 blades (could be more, these are just the ones that come with you) and i had 4 companions, and i assumed there were at least 10 to 15 other npcs there due to how long it took. Its during the part where the blades raid adytown

Really? That’s like my favorite part of the game. Mostly because at that point it’s your first chance to really unleash some endgame weapons on enemies that don’t stand a chance.

For like one turn lol, then you wait for the villagers to walk 8 blocks and repeat that 20 times

Hahah true. Did you upgrade the Blade's weapons though? They should be armed with combat armor and laser/plasma weaponry? Makes the fight go a lot faster.

Yeah they were wearing combat armor, the fight was easy in general since i had 3 companions but it just took too damn long

Really? I'm in new reno right now and while the combat is pretty bad i think it supplements it better since i both dont have to bother with random encounters since i have a car and the dialogue seems substantially improved. Fingers crossed i get op energy weapons and just one shot people right now, jets very common too so i can get 11 action points whenever i want

I don’t wanna spoil too much but as a cautionary note, Jet is very addictive and addiction can only be cured through a specific companion quest or talking to a very specific person (who you can be denied access to). If you kill this individual or can’t get to the guy who can cure Jet addiction then you will be addicted indefinitely. A rather harsh penalty. Whereas normal drugs just wear off after a couple days or so even with addiction. Just a precaution.

I prefer Fallout 2 as well, but I love both pretty equally. New Reno is such a fun location and could be a DLC (if such a concept existed at the time) by itself.

You don't have to bother with random encounters in fallout 1 or tactics, either. Put a couple points into outdoorsman, or better, get a bunch of outdoorsman skillbooks from the library in the Hub. Using jet is a TERRIBLE idea, right up until you've made an antidote for it.
