Problem with the Military base entry key

So I didn’t know that the mutant at the gate had they key. So when I went to the base for the first time I killed that mutant then retreated, because I was getting destroyed. So later I got the BOS to help but now the body of the mutant has decomposed and he didn’t have the key in the loot pile, just his weapons. What do? I heard that it might be ‘under’ the blood on the ground but I’m not sure.

Blood can decay with a time. You can also lockpick door, altough it requires really high skill. If you cant rise lockpicking skill high enough, Katja can lockpick this door for you. She is in Boneyard in Followers Library.

Also you could mistaken this "key" for something else, as it isnt a key per se but a "broken" holodisk with a code on it. If you use this disk you character will memorize code and will open door automatically.
