Spend few days only for finding rope, is that normal?

I know many falloutwalktrough ouside but using walktrough isn't fun, I better finding information from npc but npc has no no clue where I can get it.

the question is: is it always be like this that players will be hard to find the items needed to run the quest?

You have many ways to solve something in this game. Just use reallife logic. There where two ways to get a rope in Shady Sands alone.

Keep in mind that every NPC is capable of bartering, and IIRC the NPC standing at the entrance to Shady Sands has a rope you can barter for.

that's beauty of fallout imo. they rarely tell you what to do and especially how to do it. too bad standard by now's become glaring in game hints or even step by step instructions :/

Okay, anyway I found the 2nd rope on living quarter vault 15

So I have to leave the vault to find the rope? Huh, well, I sure am glad I didn't spend a [I}♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hour[/i] trying to find it before deciding that I needed to spend an infinity combing the outside world over and over until I realised that the rope wasn't there either (because there was 0% indication of either).

I'm kidding, I only spent 10 minutes combing the area. Too bad this game was made by absolute idiots, so your only option is to literally find a "rope" (which isn't there) to descend the elevator. 3d issues in a 2d game, hilarious.

well dude after first time having to use rope someplace else like vault 15 it's pretty much you stash all ropes you come across at vendors or cabinets just in case they'd be needed later :P

Yeah haha, it sucks to finding a rope without clue. Even shady sands people doesn't know or the vault dweller is too stupid for not asking for it.
