Game doesn't get past the launcher

Basically the title. I click on the game to start but it won't go past the launcher. Tried running it in administrator mode, compatibility mode, a combination of the two, I've tried the Fallout Fixt, I've tried the Classic and HD modes, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and I just can't get it to work.

Help, please? I have this same problem with Fallout 2 (and troubleshooted using pretty much the same methods). Both are currently installed on my PC, if that information is of any use.

I'm having the same problem, except now I have a tiny box with Fallout @1024x768x1 on my screen that I can't get rid of.... Haven't tried Fallout 2 yet but Fallout Tactics works fine at the moment.

That's what it looks like when you alt tab away from it. You either alt tab back to it or end task it in the task manager.

Does anyone have a solution to my problem? Or an idea for what could be causing this? I haven't found anything on the internet about it, and if I have, their solutions haven't woked for me

If you haven't tried all operating systems for compatability mode, win 95 or 98 might help.

tried those, still didn't work. Im not sure if it's a problem with the games or my PC because both Fallout 1 and 2 have the same problem. But every other game in my Library runs fine (including the 3D Fallouts)

same issue no fix online. Works on my windows 7 labtop but not windows 10 pc

Same issue here as well. I tried all graphics variations, launching directly, and playing with compatibility settings. I still am not able to get anything going.

Had the same issue and was able to fix it by changing the resolution;
In common>Fallout theres an application f1_res_Config
Just change the games res to yours and hopefully that helps
