Firewatch won't start

Hey, I've recently bought this game as it looks hella interesting. However, after installing it, I can't play it for some reason.
What exactly happens is this: the "preparing to launch" window opens, goes away, and then my computer basically gives up trying. If I look at the sidebar in my Steam library that lists the games, "running" will show up next to Firewatch, and then "syncing" will show up for a split second before it just goes away.
I have tried multiple times to no success.

I've verified the game cache. First time it found nothing, second time it did, and redownloaded. Still wouldn't launch after that.

I tried flushing my Steam files through the "run" command on Windows 7, but it still didn't work.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game with no success.

I attempted to launch the game directly from its folders instead of through Steam, but it sill didn't work.

I tried launching it through a shorcut instead of Steam and vice versa.

I downloaded a separate program that deletes duplicate DirectX files and it deleted a ton of stuff, but it still didn't help to launch the game.

I went through all of Steam's troubleshooting steps for problems similar to mine, none of them worked. I updated stuff from Windows Update. I downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia. I tried disabling background programs that could have possibly messed me up. Nothing.

I even uninstalled Steam and reinstalled it. I then installed Firewatch as the only game. The same problem still occurs.

When googling my problem online, many people have the same issues as me but with other games. None of their solutions work for me, and many of those random threads have no solutions at all.

\Steam\steamapps\common\Firewatch\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010

Run them both and reboot

Note: I have the same issue and re-running the vcredist packages and rebooting multiple times, updating my GPU drivers, verifying game cache and running system file checker have all failed to resolve the issue.

You should have a folder called _CommonRedist

Re-verify your game cache as that should be there. If not areyou running any 'steam cleaner' software that would be killing that?

if none of the above stepps worked for you guys try this because i dont have a DX11 support card apparently so the best work around is to force the game to accept DX9. so basically for those with a non DX11 video card u can play the game by forcing it into DX9 through you launch options Right Click gamename > Properties > Launch Options> in launch options type in ( -force-d3d9 ) no parenthesis. and bam game should no longer crash at start up and it runs pretty smoothly (This does not fix the intel graphics still need something other than integrated graphics)
