However,
Experiencing unintended leftward movement in Firewatch is a known issue that can often be resolved by addressing connected peripherals and installed drivers. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve this problem:
Disconnect Unused Controllers and Devices:
Ensure that only your mouse and keyboard are connected.
Unplug any additional devices, such as joysticks, gamepads, or other peripherals, as they can sometimes interfere with game controls.
Restart your computer after disconnecting these devices to ensure changes take effect.
Check for Virtual Joystick Emulators:
Software like VJoy can create virtual input devices that may cause control issues in games.
If you have VJoy or similar programs installed, consider uninstalling them.
After uninstallation, restart your computer to apply the changes.
Update or Disable HID Devices:
Open the Device Manager on your computer.
Expand the "Human Interface Devices" (HID) section.
Right-click and disable any HID-compliant game controllers or devices that are not in use.
Restart your computer after making these changes.
Configure In-Game Settings:
Launch Firewatch and navigate to the settings menu.
Go to the "Controls" section.
Enable the option to "Ignore Other Input Devices" to ensure the game only responds to your mouse and keyboard.
These steps have been effective for other players experiencing similar issues.

Hey! I had the same issue here. Nothing worked, tried unplugging everything, reinstalling, v-sync on/off, fps limit and nothing. Finally after an hour I found this reddit post from "Alter000" which worked for me!! Hopefully it will work for you!
"Hi, just encountered this glitch and managed to solve it.
SOLUTION:
WIN+R -> regedit -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CampoSanto\Firewatch -> disableControllers -> 1
Hope it helps somebody else :)"
