Open world?
What is the range of open world from a scale of 1 to 10?

Hm. If Tetris is a 1 and Skyrim is a 10, I would say Firewatch is maybe a 5. Ha!

I would kind of describe the world of Firewatch like how a ski resort is laid out. There are multiple ski trails / bowls on a mountain. Some areas have defined trails but some areas are more free-form, and they are all linked. But some areas are only accessible via a ski lift, which are only open at certain story points (or if you gain an ability).

Are there side missions and objectives to do while roaming around. And if so, would they be unlockable through doing things in a mission. Also, is the game more story/campaign focused or exploration focused?

The game is 100% story and character driven. You don't really get missions in the traditional sense so the concept of side-quests isn't really applicable. The story will progress when you arrive at certain plot points via exploration/action, and it's up to you whether you do it right away, or if you take your time.

When you explore the forest you might find locales or objects that you can talk to Delilah about, and that might give you a fuller idea of the area you are in. Kind of like hiking in real life, I suppose!

Oh, souns cool either way. Will the game give me different ways to do things, or is there only one path to go? Also, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

Also, in the longrun, will the game be available on Mac, Xbox one, andconsoles other than pc and ps4?

I would say plot/action wise the game is pretty linear. An objective in the game for example is "Go deal with the people starting fireworks" and since Henry is just an average joe, Henry will just.. hike to where those people are, though how you hike there is up to you. Henry isn't going to either sneak-along-the-rooftops or guns-blasting-his-way-in-the-open to get to them. But how you deal with those people when you do find them, and what you tell Delilah afterwards when she asks, is up to you.

The majority of choices in Firewatch is in the dialogue, which does affect how you perceive the characters quite a bit.

Firewatch is announced to be available on PC/Mac/Linux and PS4 simultaneously on Feb 9, 2016.

It is extreamly cool how you (developer) answered to all of these questions in only one day. Its really nice to see that you give the information to us who are intrested in knowing :)

Honeslty this looks like a really amazing game. My jaw dropped when i saw this game shown on IGN. It looks nice story wise and graphics wise :)

I love how you changed one of the dialogue options to "Hidden for IGN :D" when they teased the game XD :thumb: :D:

oh thanks! I'm glad people are asking questions. Firewatch doesn't really neatly fit into any category so it's actually fun to see what people are curious about. My bug count is getting low and so happy to chat. :)

Oh yeah the "Hidden for IGN" stuff is really good. heh.

Sorry for the bump, wouldn't it be more like pseudo-open world, similar to dark souls?
