Firewatch

Statistiken ansehen:
Firewatch is a video game about adults having adult conversations about adult things. If you plan on playing with a younger gamer, that might be good to know going in.

I noticed that quote on the store page. Interesting that they specifically put that. There must be fairly explicit content.
If I recall correctly, in one of the gameplay videos there were college-aged people skinny dipping and/or girls with their tops off. It's been a while since I saw it but do seem to recall this detail.
I think the warning is just mostly about the language and the things they talk about. And at least so far all the Day 1 videos show the nude teens as just silhouettes.

Just want to clarify, adult in this context does not mean XXX. :D But definitely be aware if you are sensitive to commonly used curse words. And yes the game does discuss mature themes.

is it possible to do a no sex playthrough?

There's no actual sex in the game but answering your question more broadly, you have a lot of influence over how your character steers conversations and I think you will be able to play the way you are interested in.
Just wanted to say thanks for that note. I like to play story/puzzle games with my kids and was wondering if Firewatch would be appropriate for them. I'm pretty sure I'm going to want to play it more than once, so this helped me decide to play the first time on my own to see if it is something they would enjoy or not. ("Is this a kissing book?")

I think your instinct to play it yourself BEFORE sharing it with your kids is the correct one. The game has been rated M for Mature, and we believe that to be an appropriate rating. There is adult language and there are adult themes, but beyond that there are also situations that may be difficult or troubling for young children to process. Ultimately you as a parent know your kids better than we do, but we did not design the game with children players in mind—hence the rating.
