xbox one controller, cant open map/compass??

It was the left/right on the dpad to open the compass or map.

You are pressing up on the d-pad, right? I played through the game using an Xbox One controller and didn't have any issues with the map except I kept wanting to use view/back button.

Make sure you go into your settings and manually change your control options to game pad. It automatically detected my gamepad when I started the game and I assumed it would be ok. Wrong!

Had the same problem. I think it has to do with how steam for some reason wants to read my xbox one controller as another steam controller. Anyway if in firewatch settings it is set to steam controller then there is no problems for me anyways

it's now working properly. didn't do a thing..just started the game again..and it's working..no idea why..but glad. great game. cheers!

This solves the problem with xbox one controller!
