Now when loading saved game, character appears below the map and I can see the underside of the map disappear into the distance as my character falls into the void of nothingness.

Impossible to exit the screen, Esc only stops music, I constantly have to (hard) reset, not what I want.
I used all kinds of different settings (High, medium, and lower screen resolution, but I'm not sure how to proceed).
Help would be appreciated!
I 'm ok with lower settings, just would like to play the game

What's weird is that I can still change the keys by clicking in random spots on the screen, but then I don't know the correspondances !
I didn't found it on this page already so I post it !
Thanks for anybody's help !

it doesn't matter if a controller is connected or not
I had the same issue. I just use my laptop and that helped for a little bit but then of course my original problem returned and crashed
Sucks, doesn't it? So close to the end.
I really don't want to watch the end of the game on YouTube.
Another one - its possible to sneak into the SE zone (in SE corner of map) in at least second day, yea - its a trap too. You cannot get out of the zone, there is no hatchet, and there is no fire border work. And hey, 6 hour of gameplay and this with 2 hours of desperate trying to find way out of blocked SE zone and 2 restarts ? Dudes thats way to bad, well not bad , to small.

Update:
After the patch I can't play anymore, the game keeps crashing.
The first is a rope graphical glitch at a shale slide. I rappelled down, saved, and quit. When I next started the game, the rope did not appear to be there. However, I still had the option to climb. When I did so, two ropes appeared. The anchor point of the second one was off a little to the side of the true anchor point. When I reached the top, the second rope disappeared. Unfortunately I don't have a screenshot and I don't remember which slide it was.
The second is that the text on Observation Report: Subject: Henry doesn't match what's shown on the clipboard, in the Observational Traits section. Here are screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/bWSqh
I have a controller but I am not using it for this game. It's a DualShock 3 controller but appears as an Xbox controller to the system via third-party drivers.
