(Spoilers) Camera Use
Did anyone else treat the camera as if they were recording evidence for an official debrief with the cops? Once I got the camera I think all of my shots were related the 'mystery' of the situation and I seriously thought the game might judge me for their content.

As a result I shot
- The torn up tent
- The missing ski-doo batteries
- My boarded up window
- The fire
- The fence
- The recording equipment
- The transcript of our conversations and the recording tent
- Brian's body (multiple)
- Ned's hide away

Did anyone take a CSI approach to the camera like I did? :#)

Phew, glad I'm not the only one who took the most horrifying 'nature' photos in firewatch. :)

Yup. All those CSI series I watched made me take some evidence photos :104:

Glad to know I to am not the only one, sice thought it was the whole point of the camera. After watching the credits I started to wonder if I was being morbid or something. Somewhat of a relief to to read this now.

EN16M471C and Devenish, perhaps we should create a support group of sorts? :D

It's interesting how, as a gamer, you're conditioned to find tools in games and those tools invariably have a very set purpose to advance the game. The camera in Firewatch, however, is much like a real camera in that give's the player the opportunity to document the story but isn't part of the story itself.

I approached the camera knowing there was the opportunity to order real prints from it, so I went with a bit more of a "things for the photo album" tone.

(Yes reader, I did order prints, they're very nifty)

I'm glad to be aboard this train of unfortunate misuse for the camera. I only took pictures of the torn up campsite, Ned's hideaway, and 1 picture of whatever because I assume I had to follow the instructions about taking a picture.

Obviously, none of you took Delilah's advice about not taking any "pictures that would scare the photo developer"
I think that guy is gonna be freaked out when he finds out he's developing pictures of a dead child, a mauled camping site, and an abandoned hideaway.

The life of the photo developer is actually Campo Santo's sequel to Fire Watch. Multiple mysteries are revealed as seemingly unrelated customers drop off ever more beguiling film to be developed. The game begins when a customer brings in a disposable camera that they found at the rusted out hulk of crashed helicopter accident that happened 10 years ago as part of a forest fire evacuation.

I took a few shots of scenery, but I definitely took some shots of "evidence". I made sure to get a picture of the book with the monitoring logs of Henry and Delilah, suspecting that it would disappear once I left (or, as I suspected at the time, be revealed as a figment of Henry's deluded mind). I even went all the way back around into the cave again when I realized I hadn't taken a photo of the body.

I don't really need to investigate lead. I ate plenty of "window cookies" when I was a child.

Same. I took one or two pictures of the environment but most of my pictures are of "evidence".
Laz Aug 7, 2016 @ 4:14am
Yeah I think many of us did the evidence thing. All i could do was cringe at the story I heard from a old friend that ended up finding a hiker drown in a river. he took shots with his camera. the photo develop place called the cops..
Nyx Aug 10, 2016 @ 7:31am
hahahaha i did the same thing.
thats why i found it funny when it was showing my pictures at the end during the credits cause all you see are torn tents and dead decaying bodyLOL
