That's wrong, as I did not buy my game from the Firewatch website, but over the Steam.
The save-game file will always be on the same place, wherever you buy the game, and those, the images, which are always saved locally, will always be in the same place too.
That said, as long as you use Windows ...

However, that's also not the only way to get those snapshots, but just the quickest and easiest way.
they were acquired by valve, so they kinda still exist.
i hope selling the studio was worth it. tbh, it doesn't look like it.
anyway... i just found a VR mod for Firewatch and will replay it soon in VR. that was one of the reasons i ended up in the forum.
