It sets my GPU on fire
Firewatch is literally the hottest game I have played. GPU temps hits 80 degrees on a very consistent basis. I play multiple triple A titles and most stay around 50 -60. Not to mention, some massive frame rate dips on a relatively undemanding graphics engine.

Any solutions to it?

Why thank you.

Mine goes up to 90, guess I´ll refund the game and buy it later.

I played the game twice through. I don't think it will damage your card. Just set the fan to a higher setting when playing. Given the relatively short amount of time this game takes, I think it should be alright!

Yeah I know it´s a short game, but fans are going like crazy already. It sounds like a plane is taking off next to me. I´ll play it later with another setup.

Oh right haha. I am quite lucky that I have the zotac amp. Very quiet even at the highest speeds.

FYI OP your system specs will help, like what GPU you have for instance.

I5 7500

Way above what firewatch could ever demand. The fact that I play way more demanding games without even going past 60 shows that it has nothing to do with the system.

Some games try to render as many FPS as possible, I've had simple games running at 600+ FPS and in that way taxing my system more than needed.

Make sure that v-sync are on.

Yep. Done that since the beginning. I have a 144hz screen so it runs the game at 144fps with v sync on. The same way with all my games.

It's just firewatch XD

Have you checked? Some games says they use v-sync but still run like crazy...
Last one I had that problem with was "Odessey". Low specs but turned my fans way up (the 600+ FPS thing :) )

Edit: Check with MSI Afterburner or the Steam overlay.

Yep. Steam has an FPS counter. I use it for every single game. If anything, firewatch causes my fps to drop below 100 at many instances, which doesn't happen with my more intensive games. So not only does it cause my gpu to burn up but it is not well optimized too.

Which is also why I made this post to get the devs attention as I can say with almost 100% certainty that this issue stems from the game itself.

Odd.

I just only bought the game.
Gave it a run. GPU stays below 50 C and below 50 % usage (GTX 1070, Win10Pro x64, 32GB RAM, i7 5820k)

Games don't affect all systems the same way. This is a common issue brought up on reddit and steam too. Considering that this game is not a long game (even after I played through 2 runs), it is not too big of an issue. Good thing my card runs very quiet even at 100% fans. Definitely an issue for players with cheaper cooling solutions.
