Cannot write in game folder. :/
So I tried to check the integrity of files, i've clean my cache and cookies, i've run it as an administrator, i've changed the documend folder to "access for all", i've closed the OneDrive and i've shut down my windows defender. Nothing works... so if anyone has a different suggestion.. pls reply to me cause i'm moments away of uninstalling the bloody thing. Thanks

Go to your Windows Security settings.
Virus and Threat Protection
Click on Manage Ransomware Protection
Click "Allow an app through Controlled folder access"
Answer Yes to the security prompt.
Click "+ Add an allowed app"
Choose "Recently blocked apps"

You should see Dead Island listed. Add it.

Sorry that didn't work. It's a lot of steps, but I thought for sure that would do it!
Coincidentally enough, the same thing happened to me an hour or two before you posted. I just bought the game and ran into the same issue. It happens on many games for me, because I have the Windows setting turned on that prevents access to MyDocuments (and other folders) until I give an app permission.

No it doesnt work, just bought it and dont have app write permission (folder) - i verified intergity. re-installed the game , restarted computer, re-installed steam , and valve is basically becoming scammy to me cause yet again another game that doesnt work in anyway, im asking for a refund ASAP, Im fuming as valve doesnt seem to wanna help the community with this issue....
