Achievements from old game breaking this game?

I played the old Dead Island and got a good few achievements on it and I just bought this game and started playing it. It keeps popping up with achievements over and over again and it's getting highly annoying and I can't stop it. After waking up, grabbing paddle and hitting my first zombie, I got the achievement for 10 blunt weapons, but not a proper achievement. I saved the first guy in the car and I got the achievement for saving 5 people. Every time I run, I get the 20km achievement and it's reoccuring. It will not stop, it keeps spamming me with old achievements and I don't know why.

They are probably progress achievements, showing you've got 1/10 for hitting with blunt weapon. When you get 10/10 it will pop on steam.

They show as achievements but not really achievements. Like it showed 5/5 people saved when I saved 1, 10 blunt weapons when I only used 1. It shouldn't show progressing achievements though, they show as actual completed achievements but not completed for the definitive edition.
