Why Dead Island 2 coming on Steam in 2024 so much late?
Yeah, I know we're in Dead Island Definitive Edition discussions and blah blah blah. But I wanna to know why Dead Island 2 is coming on Steam in 2024 so much late... If I were a developer, I would release Dead Island 2 on Steam right now. And I noticed one thing, Dead Island 2 the co-op mode the max players are 3... Just why...? Why in Dead Island 1 and Riptide the max players are 4 while in Dead Island 2 the max players are 3?? I mean, come on Techland, this doesn't make SENSE!! I'm losing interest with Techland and Dead Island, I don't even know if it worth buying Dead Island 2 after it came out...

Because Epic Games pays them to have a timed exclusivity. It has happened with many games.

STEAM is not this bright beacon of gamer love that many people seem to think it is (quite the opposite actually), and many developers are doing things to break away from them, such as releasing their games on other platforms.
Valve is currently in court again facing anti-trust charges due to their use of "Most Favored Nation clauses", a clause Valve uses to control game prices and keep them high by not allowing developers to offer games cheaper on other platforms...Valve even puts these restrictions on the keys developers get.

anyway.....
It's a very fun game that released damn near bug free. I like it so much that I just finished my 3rd play-through.

Stop limiting yourself by platform and just buy it on Epic...it's currently on sale, and there will be a DLC release on 2 Nov.

Oh ok. That explains everything. I would like to buy on Epic Games Store. But I don't have an Epic account and I'm tired to make a multiple accounts on different socials, communities or something... Besides, I'm a main Steam user. Plus it makes me confuse to keep multiple stores who I never use them and only one, so one store is enough for me.

If multiple launchers are an issue for you, then you are not going to do well as a PC gamer seeing as numerous games require a 3rd party launcher even though they are sold on STEAM

GOG offers a launcher that has all your games and your friends in one place. https://www.gog.com/galaxy
you can link all your accounts to it, and sort your games by platform if you want, or by "installed", and so on.....it's what I use, and it makes things very easy and organized.

setting up an Epic account is easy...easier than STEAM. You should also keep in mind that Epic gives away a free game weekly
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/free-games#:~:text=Play%20More-,Free%20Games,to-play%20game%20community%20today.

The Epic launcher is easy and has the basic things one needs....game library, friends list, store, and a workshop...thankfully it lacks all of the social media BS that STEAM has and continues to add

Epic is getting more and more exclusives, and GOG is getting more and more new releases, and GOG is COMPLETELY DRM free.
Add to that games only available through other developers and studios platforms/store and you are losing out on a lot of games.

Multiple launchers really isn't that much of a chore, especially if you use the GOG galaxy launcher....hell, back in the day we installed directly to our machine from disc, and then either created a desktop shortcut or scrolled through the start menu to find and launch the game.
