Plus the texture got downgraded, they also made the lighting overbright and the colorful island lost it's appeal. I guess "Definitive Edition" means downgrade the game and make it look ugly and perform worse edition, same with the other games like Sleeping Dogs.
I guess CD Projekt Red is the only company that makes definitive look and perform better.
Return to Arkham is also being defined for the new consoles, and some are saying that they butchered that as well. I guess they made the interns do the transition and sold the final result to the public.
I think remasters are always difficult, and in this case, I think indeed the style could be a little bit to far from the original if you liked the original.
nice! Cant wait to play it tonight when I get home from my exam! :D
Turn off chromatic aberation and it looks alot better. (less blurry)
Also get rid of motion blur.
Glad that there is an option to turn of chromatic aberation, it was something that only got added to Dying Light after a year, and indeed, that is one of the new effects I DONT like. Thanks.
Agreed original looks a lot better. Its like they added a lot of crappy effects on top of the old one and blurred it out. Colors look washed out textures look blurred. Old version looked much more detailed. Some things looked better in new version but for me the old on looked a lot better overall. Maybe turning off some of them setting might improve things. Basically looks like someone put a very amateur enb profile on top of the old game and made it worse for the most part.
And on another note them two guys who made the video were complete shills. I dont know who they are but they were talking about this like it was a huge jump to a next generation when it actually looked worse overall. I would not trust one word out of their shill mouths.
I never questioned their professionalism. Look at some more videos of them, they definitely know what they are doing, are very precise, no detail goes by them. They really dive deep into the subject matter. I understand that the new look/admosphere of the game is not to everyones liking and thus it would seem that the game looks worse for some people, but on a purely technical level, this definitive edition looks more advanced IMO.
Lol i just played both version one after the other the only good thing of the new one compared to the old one is that its a better engine. They both run flawless on my pc at highest spec but the old one felt really crappy where as the new one felt ok. Graphics were not much difference in my opinion.
I will play this game and it looks like fun etc but its not a patch on dying light in my opinion and im not a huge dying light fan or anything just having played both this game does not come close. Im sure its still fun but even the new version of this feels ancient in comparison to dying light.
Dying light has way better graphics much better feel to the movement this feels really old.
Im not complaining i bought this game on humble bundle a few weeks ago for like 3 euro for both games and paid another 6 euro altogehter for the two upgraded games. I will enjoy them etc. But lets live in reality this is a cash grab and those guys are complete shills.
Well worth 9 euro for the two games getting both editions but dying light is like 100 times better and im not a dying light fan boy if anything i think dying light is overhyped but its leagues ahead of this im not trolling im just stating facts i do like the game.
It is not so strange that Dying Light looks better, as it is a newer game that is build from the ground up with this new engine in mind. I appreciate the update, as transfering a game to a newer version of the engine should give some improvements and makes it a bit easier to play than the older versions, and it seems to me at least that it is worth 3 lousy euro's. If people do not find the upgrade significant enough, they can keep the 3 euro's for an upgrade in their pockets. Everyone can judge for themselves from the video if they think it is worth it or not. This was kind of what I had in mind when posting this video. My opinion is clear: I think it is a definite improvement. But again, my opinion. It could be because I never really liked Dead Island when I tried to play it, so I do not have any nostalgic feelings towards the old games.
Dang it, I had hoped that they made the movement a bit smoother. A well, I will try the game for myself tonight to see what my own experience will be.

The movement is defintely better the original had really bad movement but it still feels old but it is better
Okay, will check later, thanks. Some things really anoyed me in the original, and one of those points was this. I hope I am pleasantly suprised with what more they changed.
Another question though:
What is your definition of a 'shill'? I watched the video again with this idea in mind and what I see is that they compare footage one on one with the original, and point out the objective differences. Nowhere as far as I can tell are they just making up things or making things seem greater changes than they are. Curious as to what specific things happen in the video where you conclude that they are 'shills'.
They were making it sound like a much bigger difference than it actually is. The even said something along the lines of it being a generation leap i cant exactly remember. Its like the emporers new clothes they are selling something that is not really there.
Like i said im happy wit the games but i do think it was a cash grab which is fine for me as the humble bundle meant i got it for next to nothing. But i probably would have bought it without the humble bundle as i never played the game before and paying the full price would have been a complete rip off.
The main thing i would say about the new one is that although the movement is nothing special its is a lot better than the old one. I dont think i could play the old one in the state i tried it just now. Although it looked the same and although they both ran 60fps with everything mased and vsync on for some reason the old one felt like it was not 60fps its felt kind of terrible. Im not sure if it was something to do with how the mouse was programmed or wat the problem was but it felt jerky even thought the frame rate was solid so i would guess its something to do with the old engine or the mouse control. It felt close enough to unplayable. The new one feels fine. It still feels like an old game but that jerkyness is gone.
I would definitely say it was worth the 9 euro i paid for the 4 games. But without the humble bundle i would have had to pay 40 for the two new games and i dont think that is anywhere even close to being worth it. 10 Euro or less for both games is about the right price but 40 is a complete rip off. Dying light plus the following can be gotten for like 25 euro if you shop around and its literally on a complete different level than this.
But i do like the game im just putting this up because a lot of misinformation about and some people have to pay 40 for the two games.
