I can't find the Original game?
Is it just me or did they delete the original game from steam and are currently only selling this one.
If they did then they just shot themselves in the head, which is not surprising coming from Deepsilver.

Please tell me if there is cause I really wanna get the original for PC and not console.

They removed it because Definitive Edition is improved graphics, same game engine as Dying Light

I don't see how you think it was a bad move, no point to keep the old version when the new version has better graphics

You can still get the original when buying the definitive edition, i think. I'm not completely sure.

OnLive had the right idea with networked gaming. It didn't matter that your computer didn't have high-end specs, since you'd be remoting into a network computer with high-end specs. And literally, you would browse the OnLive catalogue, click a button to buy the game, and then simply start playing (no install required, no patching).

Too bad Sony bought out OnLive and shut the service down. OnLive had a Steam-related service called Cloudlift. Essentially, for any Steam game that you owned, you could play through OnLive via Cloudlift, so long as OnLive had that game in their catalogue. Dead Island was in the OnLive catalogue, and it always seemed like people were playing it, up until OnLive was axed.

To be honest not every one can afford a brand new high end computer, unless you got a well paying job you can get one. I was really looking forward to getting the older one version on steam than this new one with bugs and glitches. I played the old one before and it was awesome, but with this so-called remake doesn't really stand out to me. So yeah that is my viewpoint on this decision to remove the original is just stupid. Some people would like to still own the original instead. Just an opinion

There're key resellers out there, you know. If you can't buy it directly from steam, then they are sure to have it. Just be prepared to pay around the same price for those originals as for the definitive collection.

Yeah, when remasters are published the previous versions are generally removed, so they can jack up the price and down the discounted percentage. Otherwise people would be buying the original at 75% off.

To those concerned about higher system requirements, I can assure you that this version runs noticeably better than the original on my same medeocre desktop that I played thru the original on. It's far more refined.

Mods, people had fun with some of the exploits, player shadows existed, DIHelper worked to tweak settings, there are a few reasons.

This.

Also, the remaster removed some previous languages from the game. Why in God's name they would need to do that I have no idea.

I want to play the older version with a friend, but now he has to buy the new one, and I have to REBUY the same game. I dont care about the graphics, i just want a good game to play with a friend, but I can't buy it for him without having to rebuy it for myself as well
