Game runs kinda choppy

I've got a 2060 with an i7 9700k, yet even with textures at medium and everything but vsync turned off the game still appears to stutter when I'm out in the open (noticeable when sprinting). Are there any mods that make this game run better?

where in the game did it stutter? i wanna see if it will stutter for me too.

where in the game did it stutter? i wanna see if it will stutter for me too.

Can't figure out what makes it stutter, seems to be pretty random when walking about in the open. You'd think a 10-year old game would run alright on a modern machine but apparently not.

one of the only old games that would do something like crash for me were Red Faction Guerrilla and saints row 2 co op sometimes when entering vehicles.
other than updating gpu drivers idk much else that might work other than overclocking.

By chance, are you watching videos on a second monitor? I know for a fact that that has a direct correlation with the frame rate getting a bit lower and gameplay appearing to be a bit choppier.

If you are watching videos on a second monitor, try pausing the video and minimizing the tab and try again. Also, try turning on V-SYNC, as that seemed to help me out a lot as well.

Lock framerate to 60 FPS (or something around your monitor's refresh rate.)

I have a 1070 and a R5 2600. I use reshade. I have no stutter, use highest sets, and just lock it to 60FPS.
I imagine you have MSI afterburner, Hows the CPU,GPU,RAM usages?

you got max all settings even the view and detail distance and vehicle density?
guessing your talking about graphics by sets.

Ya, but was curious about your situation and you never said if you had MSI or if you did, what the usages were..
Well I do turn off motion blur, chromatic abb, and film grain. I Think they suck.

i got MSI but i never checked usages for this game yet because it just runs smooth for me with fps staying high, it just goes up and down pretty much the entire time when vsync is off. It hugs 144fps tight if vsync is on.
oh yeah motion blur is something i dont like either

oh yeah this was meant for some other thread i forgot about.
but i guess i just meant max settings and motion blur off.
