A number of my graphics options are grayed out

I'm trying to turn down some of my graphics settings, but my options for resolution, texture quality, shadow map size and foliage quality, as well as the options for best performance, balanced and best quality are grayed out.

Just wondering why this might be and what I could do to fix it.

Hmm it seems pretty obvious to me that these options are not available to you because you have a piece of ♥♥♥♥ video card that likly does not support them.

Get with the times and then try again.

yeah my card is plenty strong to run the witcher 3 on almost the highest settings and yet dead island still locks me out of some graphics options I don't think it's the card. There is no way this game is more demanding than the witcher 3

well for the recond, games runs flawlessly with almost everything at max on my Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB
Getting a stable 98 to 120 fps and it looks amazing

The reason some of your graphics options are greyed out is because those specific settings can not be changed in game.
Those settings can only be changed before you start a game at the title screen.
Try to change those settings when you are at the title screen and they should be available.
This should be obvious...

Naw my mom gets mad when I ask her for money so I don't do it.

Why are you mad? That is why the options are not available. Just try again at the title screen.
