Any tweaks for it to run on low end pc's?
My friend really wants to play this on his pc, but he cant afford a new better pc right now. We tried to tweak the video file to make it run smoother but it still has freeze moments and long loading times. He doesnt care if the game looks like total garbage as long as its playable. He has an i3 cpu, 4gb ram and intel family graphics hd. We tweaked games that require a better pc on it so they could run smoothly, only Dead Island DE seems to not get many changes while tweaking the config file. I saw somebody posting a tweak about low end pc's but i cant find it. If anyone knows some tricks to make it run smoother pls help us out <3 .

i have intel hd 4400 too, i5-4200u 1.6gb and 8gb ram, and it works kinda almost with 20-30 fps, but still playable. I recommend you set everything on the lowest in the game, and save it, quit, and then at your desktop/user/document/DeadIslandDE/out/settings theres a file called video. ( open a new txt on the desktop ) and draw this video file in the txt. You see its opened and you have to set the resolution to 800x600 ( its downwards you will find it, its set by default to 1024x768, thats the lowest you can set it inside the game ) there are some others options here like grass ( i set it to 1 ) and other stuff there i set to 0 ( only what you can set to 0, not others!!! ) thats all, and it worked so good so far!

Thank you for your response, we will try it out. We lowered everything down there but it still was freezy, but we'll give it another shot :D

Problem with the original version is that even that is not guaranteed to perform better. In my case it even runs way worse with lots of stuttering, where the new version runs flawless.
And using integrated Intel graphics will hold you back no matter what.

You can get the original dead island on Origin.

Maybe it is his hard drive, perhaps run from an external ssd or install a SSD drive, an extra 4gb could help too.
