can't find anyone looking in game lobby

Strangely there's rarely anyone when i search for players in game lobby. Looking at Steam charts there's around 400+ players online but i dont see anything

Steam Charts only tells you how many people, are currently playing the game.
That includes those like me that are playing in Single player mode
If you can't see anyone actively online it says two things.

Many play solo, like myself, and will never play co-op.
Those that are playing co-op, are doing so in Private/LAN/Friends Only mode.

Most people will only play co-op with friends, even in games like PUBG.
They group with friends, to hill strangers, not the reverse.

With only a feww hundred people playing concurrently, in the world, it's not surprising to me that only you are looking to play with strangers.
