(Years ago I had the GOTY versions, but I hadn't played in a while and just recently got the definitives, so there are things memory's a bit foggy on.) Funny thing about those straitjacket-wearing tank-things: I don't remember them going down with just a single shot from a revolver—they used to be a lot tougher than that. They're still scary to tackle in melee combat, though—a bad idea.
Ennyhoo, it's not quite so bad with Logan's Boomerang attribute, but still: I do a lot less throwing in the definitive version.
Note regarding the purple-skull-derived Developer's No. 4 Craft Mindblowing Military Knife: It says it's effective against only three zombie classes—not true. It makes the skulls explode only on those three classes (and it also does it to their non-animate corpses), but the knife is still deadly, for instance, when thrown at a charging Ram. BUT, it (developer's notes) also suggests that the knife must be thrown, but I'll be damned if I'm literally going to throw away a ten thousand dollar knife, so I tend to stab with it than throw it…works great.
