Looks promising. Too buggy to play at the moment, however. The Experiemental 8.0 server is not really playable, and even SP is not really ready for general testing. I'd recommend letting a couple of updates get released before attempting to provide any serious feedback.

Another great night of playing Empyrion. All I do is die. In a land full of food, I die from starvation, and though I have a tent to keep me warm, it's beyond my capacity to use it except when it's bed time, so instead I freeze to death, and at 50 degrees F.
I realize that this is an experimental phase, but seriously, do you think all us gamers want to do with our evenings is salvage for food? You made a beautiful world. Let us enjoy it. Give us a chance and we'll build an empire.

@jd1969 I happen to be a 54 year old divorcee hermit with four kids, all grown, that likes long walks on the beach AND staying home and chilling. I don't like seafood but love fried romantic dinners set to classical music, I've had two strokes and I'm late on my yearly proctological exam even though prostate cancer runs heavily in my family (I like to live dangerously sometimes!). I have a cat named Dubstep and a three legged dog named Muff. I also don't put out on the first date....so where do you want to go for dinner? That IS why you were asking, right?

Then they would LOVE Empyrion 8.0! You should introduce them to the experience, I'm sure the digital equivelent of repeatedly smashing your thumb in a drawer will build terrific family bonding.

pixal RE: GOOD SEEDS? 999 works. less crashing b/c of going to moon, acceptable first planet. they all seem to be about the same to me....

also, if you are playing around to find a decent seed or a playable universe, you can type ` (console) and ents (entities in currect playfield listed), im (Item Menu, h key), sbp (spawn any blueprint w/out mats in F2 menu) dm (debug, hit escape, last icon allows shuttling to various playfields and/or sectors. just too look around see if it crashes or is broken, etc....

after a bit of play, i only have two useful criticisms: flying in space or at times on planets there is a painfully bright white flash. tried high and low graphics settings. eye-sting both. and the food-consumption factor is way, way, way, too high. i mean i could just turn it off but IMHO current "low" or easy food setting should be high. low should be more than zero, half of "low." it's stupid high b/c forced to start w/ no suit.
