Ugh, Grain.

Having a hard time finding grain on the starting planet. I know it's in swampy areas, but I've only found ONE grain, ever. I'd be grateful to find a sprout and that would be fine, but grain being a key component for a plastic material -> drill charge is a big deal. I would think it would be spread all over the grasslands, but no :(

Does it get any more common on T2 planets perhaps? If that's the case, then its fine...I'll just put away the T2 drill until I get to T2 planets.

they are really hard to see they blend with the gras and dont stick out like all the rest, recommend finding 2 then planting it so you dont have to chase around for it. i have 3 growing that seems to be plenty. so find 2 then make a plant then when it grows make another plant untill you have the amount of plants you want, then you will never have to find it again.

Wait, I don't see grain as a crafting option.... I did find TWO...

I see all the sprouts, just nothing that looks like it would obviously make grain...

Don't tell anyone I said this, wink wink, but put down your tent in the swampy areas - it erases regular grass detail objects revealing the grain. And corn and wheat are what you want to grow to make more. Have fun.

There are 2 Tipps

1: Drive slowly in 3rd person view, then you can see them much easyer (First pic in that quote)
2: Use your drill as lawnmower (Drill ground for a second)

Thats all you can do.

I hate to admit it but the tent trick does help :)

I did, however, LOSE my tent. I clicked something and poof, instead of placing, it just disappeared. Without the ability to craft another one, that pretty much sucks. I guess I'll be consoling in another tent. :/

I usually see 2 or 3 in swamps, just got to walk not run, using the Personal Drone can help too.

when you do the Robinson Protocal you get 1 corn sprout at the Wreckage, i always use that to grow more for sprouts and plastic but i also get a grow room up and running as early as possible by lv 5 at the latest - 9 plots (1 grow light) do for me, 4 for spice, 3 for durian (you also get one of these) and 2 for w/e i need atm like wheat but these 2 arent a permenant planting
food problem solved (4 spice and 3 durian gives you 2 veggie cans and 2 snacks per harvest, more than you need but it allows you to save some up for when you arent there to tend the garden) plus 2 plots for meds,plastic or w/e

Look into marsh Biomes, they're usually filled with plants of all sorts. Also i usually use the Flashlight(item) to scoute for pick ups. Makes interactable Plants stick out better

corn and wheat are grain so you can pick either in the food proccesser to make one of those plants.

If you could find a village POI. They have a farm inside that should have grain plants. Be warned that these places have bat things roaming the village and will attack you on sight.

Try not to shoot the villagers or you will have a fight on your hands.

You can't make "grain", you use the grain to make sprouts to plant so that you can grow more grain.

corn and wheat are grains now, use the one with the shortest growth time.
