Ship type may not be repaired
Confused on this one. I landed my CV on my base repair block but it says it cannot be repaired. Any ideas, I know it has damaged blocks and I even put iron ingots in it. This isn't the one that repairs to blueprint.

Did you go into the control panel of the CV and save your template? (main tab lower left) also did you place a repair console as well?

Yeah, repair bays are just a concept now. They really aren't meant to be used to actually repair anytihing, just look good, and make you feel like have gotten somewhere in the game. The whole idea is to force you to give up, scrap your ship, and start over. The devs think this adds content.

You need to add materials to the repair bay now. Plus add a repair council.

Yes. I saved the template but only after it got damaged. I'm not trying to replace blocks, just repair the ones that are damaged. This used to be a simple process and I thought the block repair didn't take resources.

Main problem is that the console will say scanning then eventually say that the ship type can't be repaired. It gives no "scan" of a ship or requirements for resources to fix. It doesn't even say that there is a ship it's found. Not sure what I'm missing.

If you did the template after it was damaged it may not be repairable because there is no damage. It's in the state it was in when the template was made so it thinks it's fine.

As for resources, they changed it in 8 so that ingots of all types are now required to repair. No freebies any more.

That and is it a T2 repair system?

to just repair the blocks you need to select Repair not 'Repair to Blueprint' let it scan then add a few iron and maybe sathium if it asks for it, let it scan again THEN select Auto Repair and it should do what you ask - just repair damaged blocks no matter the bp's
for a t2 repair bay - when you are fixed back, be sure to save a "Repair Blueprint" from the ship control panel, its completely different from the bp saves you normally do for crafting/spawning or workshop bp's - this will get rid of the "Ship type may not be repaired" and allow you to actually replace missing blocks guns etc if needed

edit: a big thing ive found is, you have to wait for it to 'scan' again anytime you do anything like change a check mark or add matterials
