Space Anomalies
Long time Empyrion fan. It would be pretty cool if there were black holes, quasars(yes, another type of black hole, I know) binary/trinary systems, and other things in space that you could scan and sell the information. Could also make for some white knuckle moments if you got too close to something like a black hole.

... ending up with an error message and corrupted save game file like when you hit the pole

Awsome idea.:steamthumbsup::carx_cup::carx_drift: Like it.

Lol! That's a salty reply. No, I could do without that thank you. But the anomalies would be very cool.

Too close .. why would you go too close, not like there is any sort of physics or gravitational effects anyway.. likewise for damage, a capital ships can bounce on a planet and not take damage - and you want them to somehow work out taking damage for a black hole...

Yeah, like now we have a 100kTonn capital ship bounce off a tree like a rubber ball if hit correctly, I can hardly imagine the outcome of adding more colidables without fixing the existing. In general I like the idea but it's still a long walk for EGS

Not the same things at all, and we're talking new development, which itself is not likely. Again this is just throwing some ideas out there. Don't give me any of the "they need to fix the existing issues" crap. That's not what this area is for. Try to keep up.
Maybe something that only pops in for a short time, deleting itself from the map afterwards and spitting you and your ship out to the nearest star. Warp in, search/fight/grab all you can, get out before it collapses.

Uncommon, but mundane, stellar phenomena are probably best left to the explorer's guild.

I think the black hole thing would most likely be something that could be encountered the first time you warp to an area. There's a chance you could warp in too close and then the fun begins.
