Why would they not want to use those console commands for that?
If I understand what you suggesting here, you can get that by removing the POI reference from the planet's playfield.yaml.
So, like, for example, if you wanted to delete the Abandoned Factory from Omicron on the next reset, you would go to the Steam\Steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games\name-of-game\Templates\Desert\playfield.yaml file and then find where it says POIs: and then underneath that delete the paragraph that looks like this:
However, if you were really asking for something else, I think I would need to ask again why they would not want to do this...
No, that deletes the POI on reset, which was what I thought you were asking for.
If you want to do something that is not deleting the POI you should probably be doing that in a topic which is different from a suggestion thread titled "Way to delete a ship or structure".
