Advanced Gravity Generator
Place one on a CV or space base, and all attached blocks have gravity. Same as Offline Protection- only one is needed.

I like this idea. We can avoid overlapping fields.

Would be so much better. I remember doing it on a space station and having 25 gravity generators to make sure all areas were covered.

A tech 2 version would be horrendously expensive to build and consume loads of power, but it would cover the entire base/vehicle with just one device.

Thank you! I agree on the high cost of advanced devices.

I've always been a fan of crazy-high level goals and rewards. EGS definitely has a large group of multi-thousand hour players! I've been supporting Empyrion since 2015. It would be awesome to still have things yet to be discovered. :sunriserv:

I would like an option that you can turn on so you can see where the gravity generator is covering. I haven't tried it yet but I have read that if 2 generators overlap then you get double the gravity in that area, I think that it should be the same everywhere if we can't get the generator that you are asking for.

Not any more, I think the double gravity problem was fixed a while back.
The only problem I find is a gravity generator on a CV too close to your base or a POI that also has a gravity generator. If they are offset, you can find yourself walking sideways on the base/POI until you are out of range of your CV.

An Advanced Gravity Generator would solve that problem too.

I like this. It would fit right in with the "N" key building tools to show Oxygen and Structural Integrity.

And the overlapping Gravity Field is definitely still there.

Building a structure that is tall as well as wide only makes this problem worse.

I can place as many Gravity Generators as I need on one, flat level. But when I add the second dimension, overlapping fields and crazy high gravity overlaps are impossible to avoid.

Another option could be adding an advanced type of gravity generator that allows you to manually configure the gravity field, in the same way that you can configure the range of a motion sensor.
It works out pretty well in Space Engineers, at least, although the field configuration in that game is less accurate.

I like every suggestion made in here and I would add a Mk2 grav gen should also work for SVs......

This would be a good thread for the Eleon developers site....

I logged in there for the first time in ages! Wow it's been a nice long run with EGS since 2015.

There is actually a great idea already posted there which I think is the best idea yet. Aetreon suggested to just make the field configurable.

a mega grav gene which does warp drive and normal speed is what some think the flying saucers have.

+1

Well, my little post is a year old. Happy birthday! :sefacepalm:

Happy Birthday to you, non existent Advanced Gravity Generator, happy birthday !

Revival of the thread!
I'd rather just have visible, adjustable boundaries on the existing gravity generator (just like sensors). Scale power usage with the total volume gravitized.

Want a T2 gravity generator idea? Have it override planetary gravity. Use it to cancel high gravity to make movement around a base safer and easier. Set it to 0G, and make an anti-gravity bubble you can fly around in with your jetpack. Just the thing for building big BAs and CVs on planets. BA generators would override CV generators for balance.

And if you wanna get really clever, have it arbitrarily oxygenate and climate control its effective volume as well. A perfect centerpiece for a colony POI on a hostile world.
