You tried to reactivate a destroyed structure. I'd be surprised if it didn explode. Next time make sure it's structurally sound before you go pressing buttons.
Your elevation in space is your distance to a planet.
The moons of Crown are the new player area. They're meant to teach you the basics of the game until you can build a ship and leave. Since they're basically a tutorial area, they required the most work.
It shouldn't show up when in space, especially since it only shows the distance from the planet/moon we just left, not the closest one. I can only think it's a bug.
Here a screenshot :
I'm more than 20km away from the moon 2 here.
but i do know some crashed vessel POI's are very sensitive, or you could say 'booby trapped' to collapse unexpectedly..... You just have to try to collect the most critical things first, and always have a logistics container connected in case it does collapse, and if it does, then zoom around like crazy hitting the F key. Things falling underground though is just bad form by the game.
And i've not only seen this bugs. lot of UI bugs, and mission bugs, and ships bouncing when sit down on the pilot seat or leaving it, even without anything docked on the ship...
This game is unfinished.
Either way, you're 3.5 kilometers from a transition point to a different playfield according to the altimeter in this screen shot.
Some POIs are just set dressing.
There are some in vanilla that have been there for years. I have not had the POI the OP is referring to collapse, but there is one crashed CV, that comes to mind, that does it all the time. It has a good number of thrusters and is usually in the starting sector for us to salvage for that reason.
Only way to prevent this is to core it then check SI, then shore it up so that you can get all the goodies.
I am not at my PC or I would give you the name sorry. Maybe TBB remembers which one I am referring to. I will make note of the others as I come to them.
Don't tell me, I'm not going to be able to fix them.
Ok no problem. Thank again for the info! :)
Like i said, some (lot) of them explode in pieces as soon as we core them and even only that.
I can make a video if you want to understand what i was saying.
No that's not necessary. I have had that happen on occasion as have we all. As for is it going to get fixed? Probably not. It may be as intended and maybe not only the creator knows.
