Disappearing salvage core?
I'm wondering if this happens to other players. Sometimes (and only sometimes), when I place down a salvage core, it just disappears, but it's still working. I can go through a POI and retrieve blocks just fine. However, I can't retrieve the core when I'm done. It's not that big of a deal because I can just make another one and they're cheap, but I'm wondering if this is a known bug or whether I should maybe report it to someone.

I am playing RE2, not vanilla, and I'm single-player only, if it matters.

Happens frequently.. More often than not you'll find the core in the location you placed it previously... it's a right royal pain in the neck, especially if the last place was a planet 70ly away..

So not just me, then. Good to know! Like I said, it doesn't really bother me. They're cheap to make (and I'm a hoarder in the game, so I have tons of stuff), so I've taken to just crafting a supply of salvage cores and keeping them in my carrier, so when I lose one in this way, I have another to take its place.

I will keep that in mind, thanks!
Sorry if i am late to the party on this. 2 things that prevent this from happening to me. First, place the salvage core away from you, like a few blocks at least. It partly seems to be the game determining the core is colliding with the player. second, when placing the core, give it a second or two before placing. call it up on the hot bar, wait a moment, then click it down.

placing too close or too quick all but guarantee i will be hunting the thing down. may not solve 100 percent of the problems, but it used to happen to me all the time, now almost never, and usually because i forgot to do the above.
