Saving a Blueprint
Just wondering; is it possible to save a CV created in survival as a blueprint? I'm playing Reforged Eden.

as far as I know you can save blueprints no matter what game mode you are in.

Yeah, I do it all the time. Look at the vehicle you want to save and press alt+o, works in all modes.

You need to be standing near enough to the vehicle to be able to open the control panel of the vehicle when pressing Alt-O. move right up to the CV, and try, then keep backing away until you cannot get the dialog appearing to get an idea of what the distance away is and achieve a reasonable thumbnail image. That will give you a default screenshot that is useable. everyone uploads a separate screenshot when using the steam workshop and then deletes the thumbnail that the game automatically makes for you.

Just tried the Alt + O which worked; saving the blueprint. However, when I try to put the newly saved blueprint into the factory the save name is in red and tells me "contains forbidden block". Is there a way to find out what is the offending block/blocks?

oh dear, that chestnut. forbidden blocks. No
it's going to be something stupid like the "personal closet" boxes because although they look nice, the game devs decided that they are loot containers.

If you are in a single player game or are an admin, open the console ( ` ) backtick key top-left, and type in
sbp
which means spawn any blueprint.

there are ways to figure out which block is offending, but as far I know they are not that great, it's most often that you placed a weapon you should not have. Oh and also of course grow plots. grow plots may not have seedlings planted in them.

If you blueprinted a AI ship....
Tons of forbidden blocks

Thanks for the input guys, but I just worked it out. The garden in the CV was fully stocked; all I had to do was remove the plants and all was well.

Small hint. I often go into creative and remove the grow plots all together and make it a seperate copy. For starting ships, sometimes I dont have the materials for grow plots, and for end game ships sometimes I dont need them. It isnt a major thing, by any means, but can save you some time/effort.
