No more resources
I can't seem to find anything to mine anymore. Will the resource veins spawn again over some time? Or am I ♥♥♥♥♥♥?

The idea is to eventually leave the planet. There are resources on the Omicron moon, for example. Also if you're not using a SV or a GV at least, then you're missing out on new deposits on Omicron.

Did you explore the whole planet or solar systems? I find it hard that you got everything. Unless you are trying to build a city on the planet. First priority is to get a safe place made and functioning then get off the planet. You can come back with stuff from other places or keep going. When the full game is implimented you will have 100s or thousand of systems to fly to and explore.

And as of now I don't think there is a respawn of resources. Don't know what they plan for that in the future.

Hentze, you just encountered something of an idea I was hoping for. Servers with many people on them, vast empires strip-mining worlds for resources, fought against indigionous creatures and groups that have built their bases on the planets. BRING ON THE OLD SCHOOL SCI-FI NOVEL SCENARIOS!

it's entirely possible to deplete omicron for resources. I've only found one other promethium deposit besides the small one near the crash site, but several other deposits around the map.

A GV with a small constructor should do fine in processing materials, but those energy packs get eaten up like pringles at a picnic. Uranium in SE was neither particularly rare, nor was it consumed quickly, so this kinda cramps Empyrion's style in the short term with an ultimately finite fuel supply. Once that fuel runs out, no more oxygen station. Dead.

Bases are going to need some kind of passive power supply so that fuel can be conserved for vehicles.Perhaps even unique to the type of planet, such as solar for the desert planet, geothermal for the lava, and wind for the ice biome.

I thought I saw solar power in the videos. Am I thinking of something else? Come on, a space game without solar power?

@ zourin - you have put only 12.5 hours into the game. I have 172 hours so far. The resources are there a plenty for a single player and the job at hand. You are suppose to escape that planet, not set up a home. I found enough promethium on orbion to make nearly 2000 power cells. In turn made over a thousand oxygen cells from part of that. The trick is not to build so much that you eat through your resources before you can leave the planet. And the rock golums drop some promethium when killed and they are respawning.

@ RP the solar powers are in the works I believe. At least it's been discussed. But yes you saw correctly. Just not implimented at this time.

Awesome... for solar and the note about bailing... I will re-think my stay ;-)

I got same problem...except small promethium deposit next to crash side i did not find any deposit on any of planets....on ide planet i did not find aby deposit of anything...on lava planet i did find only 2 depo with copper and iron...thats all...

..I heard solar panels have been a thing in lots of games.... Not sure why the devs miss them out yet.

They didn't it is shown in the video as people pointed out, its pre alpha, just hasn't been finished yet. probaly have to tweak it so its not OP and people just don't use that instead of fuel. Personaly it should just be for bases, maybe GVs, but a capital or SV those should be more battle ready and reliing on panels that stick out to get shot not very effective, but having one on your little A to B mining refinary to save a little juice yeah that makes sense it even uses less power then SVs, but the bases should need large arrays to do more then keep the lights on.

Even on the starting Planet there are more Promethium deposits. Get a GV and find them. If you want me to post some directions just post again and ask, then i start the game and check my map.

a large deposit of promithium is towards east , southeast of the escape pod. It a bit of a trip and you have to fight off a drone for it.

you head east or toward the sunrise from the pod. you will see a magnesium deposit off to the left or north hand side of you about 150 meters out. Go past that and you'll see east of that a tower. To the south of that tower , up the mountain side there you will reach a deposit of promethium guarded by a drone. The deposit size is 10 or 12 i think. Plenty to keep you going and repair the pod. Another deposit is northwest from the pod over the mountain near 2 towers guarded by 4 drones with 4 roaming drones on the way there. Without lots of ammo for your assault rifle you will not make it there. You'll need sniper to take out the tower guns and at least 250 rounds for them. Don't get in a hurry those drones will take you down.l

good luck.

PS deposit don't show up till you are within 100 meter of the deposits.

Trust me there is a lot of resource, you just are not searching enough.

I think what's holding back solars is likely the fact there is no power storage at the moment. Solars on a planet need to store excess charge during the day into batteries so that energy can be used at night to keep things going. Right now the gens just eat a whole power pack and know how much energy to produce over time from that, but it's a really basic system and is going to need a lot of work in time.

I'm pretty sure it's a placeholder system also, as the power packs already seem like consumable batteries, which is why you can just drop them into the oxygen and water generators, and why they are used to make energy based ammo clips. So why do we need a "generator" to release the energy in them? And why do they go in a "fuel" tank? I think we are going to see a completely new power system eventually, and that's when we will get more advanced systems like solars and maybe geothermal.

Don't overthink it... just make it realistic.

Solar today takes too long, requires too much work and returns very little.
Else we wouldn't be figthing over oil.

So. Just do that. and it will only be used as a last resort, or by fanaticaly green nutjobs

You guys are right! after 2 hours of searching i find 3 more promethieum resources on omicron and on icy planet i dinf one size 14!....they are huuuge.....i have more than 2000 power packs. Also in current state of game is not power mine issiue as i refuel every 1-2 hours...too bad that constructors dont work when i am on different playfield.
