If you have all thruster in the middle of a vehicel you can only fly straight
I have sometimes seen a spawned vehicle with those sliders set to 0%. Check them and see if that helps?
For Thruster placement without any RCS (which I no longer every bother using) the trick is to place all of your thrusters off center from the center of gravity. Then balance the rotation of each placement so that the roll, pitch and yaw balance out. Any thruster directly on the center of gravity line gives no torque at all. I find that mounting them Star Trek Enterprise style works just fine as a starting place - high, back and off to each side. Even for tiny SVs - using at least two in each direction will make it much easier to balance. My current mid-size CV has 24 Large (blue) Thrusters with 4 in each direction. I had to limit the torque and it is perfectly balanced with 92 m/s rotation in each of roll, pitch and yaw.
