Same with talking to the Talon Chief. Click through it to get it checked off the list so I can trade, didn't read a word of it.
If I wanted to read I'd pick up a book not a game.
The storyline stuff gives 0 guidance, and that's bad. I'm going to marked locations after visiting the obelisk, reading the computer terminal there, and marking everything on the map, but there is no actual quest that gives direction on what to do. Find and read all the logs by visiting all the places. They could have at least implemented a quest log that says:
Find log at bunker
Find log at actuator
Find log at ____
Find log at ____
Having these get checked off as you read the log would go a long way for giving the player some general direction. Then do the same for the other moons. I'm assuming I need to visit all the moons and planets that were listed in the computer terminal at the obelisk. There's a fine line between freedom and being completely lost in video games. Some basic guidance would be great for the story line. Not that I expect it to be very deep or interesting, but it's something to prod me into exploring more.
If you read you'll see I played the new one the time i type this, which was the new tutorial...
Read dude. Reading comprehension isn't that difficult.
They said they are playing the new 1.8.
"So about a week ago I found Empyrion collecting dust since 2016 in my steam library. Decided hey lets give it a go. So I played for a day, and honestly was learning what I needed to learn, and everything was pretty straight forward. I however had to stop playing for a week after that."
"Then this newest update came out. New player experience! new tutorial! awesome I thought. I don't remember anything from a week ago anyway, so lets start fresh all over again... and... holy crap is the new player experience BAD..."
The OP was created 18 hours ago, making it after the new update.
LOL The very first 2 sentences tells you that they played 1 week ago for a day! The second sentence tells you that they could not play for a week. Now that would put the time for coming back to yesterday!!!
"So about a week ago I found Empyrion collecting dust since 2016 in my steam library. Decided hey lets give it a go. So I played for a day, and honestly was learning what I needed to learn, and everything was pretty straight forward. I however had to stop playing for a week after that."
Then the third sentence tells us all that they are on the new update. Hint the OP was made yesterday after the update!!!
"Then this newest update came out."
See that was not so hard to figure out now was it??? So no they are already playing 1.8 and that is what the OP is about. And not to mention 2 posts above this one the OP clarifies it as well.
The new ones make timely suggestions. They hold info dumps until they become relevant. There's a bit of signposting around the Crown sector, but besides that, you're left to decide for yourself how to proceed. Deciding for yourself what to do is the correct mindset.
Yes, the title speaks about a 'new tutorial', but what version does it mean exactly?
1 week ago 1.8 was in Experimental, that's not a version reflecting the FINAL 1.8 which is realeased only now. Exp versions should never be the base for a long discussion and review, they have faults, they have bugs and this is planed to be so in order for the devs to get feedbacks. There is nothing to discuss - retrospectively, there was to be given feedback. Was. Now that's past, exp is over.
And who cares wether you can play a week ago or not, that only gives indication that OP was playing exp version, not 1.8 regular version.
