unlimited fuel and oxygen
will they implement something to give you unlimited fuel legit? like say promethium deposits regenerate over time? or something with solar panels (i heard about them in forums and not sure if they exist). i ask this because even if mining ALL promethium ore you will still run out. then you wint be able to make oxygen and food. like example from minecraft, you plant trees to get wood for furnaces. maybe make some sort of plant that you can turn into fuel packs? that would be pretty cool. what other ideas do other people have i wonder.

I'm thinking solar panels to fuel cells will probably be the way to go, production rate might even increase with proximity to the sun. it could really make sense to build a station with the only purpose of gathering energy, now you just need more uses for promethium at that point.

I think solar panels to batteries...

thats a good idea. and maybe water + batteries make fuel cells? i dunno but i do like the batteries idea

PLUS you can kill the stone giants on Omnicron - they produce/leave Promentium for you to convert to power - yes it's not a LOT, but it does essentially give you an "endless" supply - just keep killing them!

You can totally survive just on farming the golem each night. They usually give you just enough to last a day.

Right now this could become an issue, but the future of the game will have extended solar system and additional systems to go to... so the problem of running out of anything should go away on its own...

I dont think that you need an unlimited promethium becuase you have so much of it, that untill it all rans out on you, you will manage to do everything you want until the new update with new planets. But it could be nice those solar mirrors.

You will never run out of anything! There is loads of stuff. You explore planets when you run out and will have a giant galaxy full of solar systems, planets and resource nodes, eventually.

Two things.

1) In the previous build I've had 6,000+ fuel cells in my base storage, and knew where several size 12+ deposits were (so 10,000+ fuel cells were on the table if I wanted them). My "burn rate" was under 50 for an evening of playing (several real time hours)... so it'd be next year before I ran out of fuel on that save if I played daily. I'd call running out "theoretically possible", I'd be stunned of anyone actually did.

2) The Rock golems on Omicron (old starting planet) dropped ore & rock chunks; and they did respawn. With GV/SV guns & turrets not requiring ammo, you could definitely gain more fuel cells than you used powering your vehicle; and show a net gain in fuel cells hunting them.

So there is a method to "slowly" gain, and have infinite fuel... but I can't see needing it.

Oo but theoretically you could also get say 2 promethium deposiuts size 7 max on the current planets took me forever to find my deposits and theres alien towers nearby that if i flew there id get shot at. thanks for the tip tho

When random generated systems and planets are added you can just go to a new planet, strip-mine it, take the fuel home. Rinse and repeat as many times as needed since you can keep spawning more planets (hopefully) when that feature is added. I hope a jumping system where you type coordinates is added instead of a map that keeps getting larger as you explore it like Minecraft, eventually you would be taking hours-long trips to grab energy.
