How to use hydroponics bay?
I'm playing RE and I've placed them down but unlike the plants/seeds there is no indication of whether it is growing or not and I was wondering if anyone had some answers. As I'm quite confused as to how they work and if they even are working. Although I have placed them successfully with all pre-reqs met such as the lights and placing them on top of the growth plots.

If they don't grow they should give a tooltip same as any other crop, though I have not tested that.

Is it one hydro bay per 9 plots and 1 light or is it 1 bay per 1 plot and 1 light? I have always been confused by that and never spent my points there.

It is one bay per 9 slots, with 1 light.

are you placing a blank one?

They need to be crafted again after you make one with the seeds of the plant you want to grow.

I made that mistake.

You place one plot, then the hydroponics bay, then the grow light over that. You have to put sprouts into the constructor and then make your choice of hydroponics bays. These things are a real time saver if you have a good sized faction, since one click is essentially harvesting 9 plots. I can harvest a 300 hydroponics farm in just a few minutes. 300x9=2700 plots :)

It's a pet peeve of mine that I can't put the light on the floor and grow from the ceiling. I suspect it's related to the seedlings not being able to rotate. Possibly the animation of the object. But a grow light on the floor of a spacecraft with hanging hydroponics is far more logical and space efficient, especially if you have artificial gravity.

I did my whole research tree (up to lvl25) but dont see any option to build these hydroponics.
How do I get that option ?

Are you playing Reforged Eden? I do not believe they are in Vanilla game.
