I guess it wouldn't work in multiplayer, so might be too much effort for a solo game feature. Not really worth it. Heck, work lights are nearly free so no big deal.
Besides, baddies spawn more at night. I'm guessing the OP doesn't like baddies to come and eat him/her. In fact I'm all for more baddies to mob light sources at night...hm, more fresh meat for me.
this, or flash light on higher tier weapons (by now only pistol tier2 has it ... and assault rifle) ... but day/night cycle is allright - makes game more difficult and interesting - its survival isnt it? :D
And drones that destroys your small vessel while you are mining and then you get out of that hole after ten minutes, happy to finally found cobalt and your ship is gone. You won't make it back, because the way is freaking long on foot and you get killed by a minigun-drone after your ammo is out.
Then you will ragequit and... oh wait... that was me... nevermind...
Gotta learn to mine properly....and learn to listen for that distinctive drone sound. I mean, what if it was a troop transport?
