You will need this procedure for all large items. Warp drives, constructors, large engines, etc etc.
1. Make sure you have a wifi unit connected somewhere, either your base, or your ship. (Reforged Eden calls it a matter transmitter, which is a better name).
2. With the power to your base or ship turned on, hit the F4 key. This opens two inventory screens on your monitor. You can choose which screens to look at in the dropdown menus, so you can easily move items from box to box, or box to fridge, or box to personal inventory.
3. Between the two inventory screens is a button that looks like a wifi signal. This will connect you to the inventory on the right side. You will see the hotbar is biege now, to show you are connected to that container. You can connect to any container.
4. Connect to the container with the warp drive in it.
5. Move the warp drive from the inventory to the new, beige hotbar.
6. Switch between your normal hotbar and the connected hotbar with your T key. This way you can still use your multi tool, or other items in your normal hotbar.
7. With your beige hotbar showing, you can now use it to set very large items.
Yes, it is a wretched system. One of the biggest problems with the game.
You can totally play without blueprints. I never use them, the factory in my pocket is too anti-immersive for my liking.
You do know that SV warp drives like, exist, right?
That makes like, literally no sense but at least now I know. T H A N K S for a real answer instead of being ridiculous. I just wanted to know what was what.
Read the Empyriapedia. Game Mechanics > Logistics Network/Connected Toolbar
That will explain it in case you need a reminder if you forget what captainamaziiing wrote.
Empyriapedia. Read it
If you want to mod an existing ship in your Survival game, you'll have to use the procedure mentioned above for placing heavy items.
Does it? Based on how often I see this very question coming up (though usually around the large constructor) I don't think it does a good job explaining it to people.
It really should at least give players a pop-up when they first unlock the large constructor that at least directs them to read the pda. That would catch 90% of the time people people would first need logistics at least.
It's very simple: If Volume=on is disturbing you then switch it OFF, this is a game and you should have a fun time.
The section 'Logistics' exist in the Empy. but: Will you read it if you even don't know it exists? Hardly...
Make your customizations in Creative mode where you have all options.
The Empy. is only good to get you started, nothing more. For me, many answers were not located there.
Damn, I must of just been hallucinating when I typed in "www.google.com" and in the search field typed in "How to add a warp drive to your SV in Empyrion Galactic Survival" and all that came up was:
- How to effectively use Warp Drive
- How far can you warp in an SV?
- How long does it take to unlock the Warp Drive?
- Quick Guide to SV warp drive usage
- How to conserve Pentaxid for SV Warp Drive
This hallucination was wild because I also seem to have spiced up the search field getting even more and more specific and then getting much the same search results for 30 minutes, while attempting to figure it out IG in it.
Maybe I should see my doctor and let him know I'm experiencing vivid hallucinations?
