technically epic games is drm free for singleplayer, (it'll launch with the direct exe)
but steam has all the benefits of steam itself, installing mods, not only blueprints, and intigrated guides/notes/recording in the steam overlay, steamdeck support, and steam will outlive epic store, so even if the game gets taken off steam list, you'll always have the game to download
and last but not least, dedicated server hosting, steamcmd makes things a lot more solid for setting up, and idk how that would work on epicgames
some times i make a backup from the current build, to continue playing and make it update proof.
but lately, i don't see the saves from steam folder in the copied game, have any idea why ?
If you are playing a copy of the game you need to do this as described by Pantera. Basically, if you don't use the "Play" button in your library, or the Steam created desktop link you need to do this.
thank you very much ! that fixed the issue .
