Motion Sensor Help?
I followed a few guides on YT to try and solve this but couldnt quite figure it out. I placed a motion sensor above my teleporter, and named the motion sensor in device logic. Then, in device logic, I assigned the motion sensor to my Teleporter. I adjusted my motion sensor to include only the teleporter in the red area. The teleporter was inactive prior to starting all of this, and I thought that the motion sensor should have turned the teleporter active when stepped on at this point, but nothing seems to work.

Ive watched a few various YT tuts and they all seem to suggest the identical steps, but im not having any luck atm. Are there any commonly missed things that people over look?

Motion sensor named: check
Motion sensor assigned to teleporter: check
Motion sensor range adjusted: check

when you named the motion sensor did you set it to on from drop down and tick the check box

and when you pull up the name under the teleporter you selected follow, check box unchecked.

I Hadnt tried those things, so I just went in and tried, with no luck.

A side note though, since I posted, I have went into creative and did some experiments. Seems I have no trouble at all successfully using motion sensors for teleporters ..... even wired up a few lights to see if i was not understanding the proximity of things, but all works well in creative.

so i revisted my SP save and went to some of my other bases and attempted the motion sensors on them for my teleporters, and they work fine. Its just at this one base where it refuses to work for some reason.

I definitely am a novice at this stuff so I still not sure if its operator error, but Im starting to think maybe its some sort of weird glitch. I picked both the sensor and the teleporter up to reset logic and then placed them down and tried again, but still no luck... the sensor is one block above the teleporter on this base, so i tried raising the ceiling one block and raising the sensor but still no luck....

Only thing i can think of now is that there may be an issue with it being beside something? I know thats reaching, but everything else ive set up works flawlessly lol, so i am stumped lol

you might need to remove your sensor with the multitool. sometimes they get messed up "bugged", and replace it with a new one and start over.

edit:i've had to replace hanger light sensor before with new ones and set them up again like new. because for some reason they stopped working. just one of them things that is rare but happens.

yea I have used the multi tool to pick up both the sensor and the teleporter.... I'm not sure what is going on but im going to keep tinkering, i have a few ideas left to try lol

i been trying to set up a sensor plus 2 levers to work my blast doors but i can't get my head round the concept

In general, these sensor/switch setups seem fairly straightforward now that ive invested some time into them.... basically, access your senor/switch device from the device logic tab and simply name it....thats step one.... step 2 is go to your blast doors in the device logic tab and select the sensor/switch name in the drop down menu.... thats really it

although, if you use a sensor, it will need some adjustments typically on your area sensing.... lol i just learned all this today in my creative save trying to get my SP issue worked out xD

UPDATE: Figured out what was wrong. Somehow, the "Signal" slider got toggled off at the particular base that was having the issue, and was not allowing the motion sensor to function. Absolute rookie mistake for sure lol.

i get that but want it to use two levers aswell :D

MAN, about 45 minutes to late to help you. As I was reading down the comments, I am like " signals are turned off in the main panel "...." signals are turned off in the main panel ".
BTW- if you use a trigger plate under the teleporter, there is no need to setup proximity.
I too used to use the proximity sensor until this lightbulb flashed in my head :)

The only disappointing thing about the pressure plates is there's no RMB option to have the "plate" be a full block. So they tend to mess up the ceilings of whatever deck is beneath. In which case, I'm forced to use the prox sensor.

totally guessing here, as i havent had to hook up your particular thing yet, but i'd say youll have to hook both levers into a circuit, then assign the circuit to the blast doors.... If its the "lever on either side of the door for open/close" scenario, i believe a simple "OR" circuit would do it. ive messed around a bit with logic in other games like scrap mechanic, but i never really got awesome at it lol. best of luck to you though :)
