Getting to warp speed
Hi guys first post in here.
I have built a warp capable ship and have everything on it.
I can't get it to warp. I noticed a post saying I need to be doing Between 50-60 to warp.

I have 14 main propulsion thruster and I am barely getting to 9.
Am I doing something wrong.

How heavy did you make your ship 0_o You should easily get to 110.

Good question how do I Che know thathat. It's not big either is it because I used standard hull block or should I use something else.

Not currently at home so can't heck weight

Control Panel I believe. For me that is 'P'. Hull blocks way a lot but if your ship is only say 60-70blocks long and 30 or so block wide you should not be having this issue. You are using Thruster Normal or Thruster Large right and not Directional thrusters?

Yes I am using main propulsion thrusters and not secondary

you have to press M...open the map..go to the solar system tab...click the orbit selection..click lock target...I think you need to be going 110..not 60-80..have your cursor over the target ..and hit K.

If you're doing all of this...and it's not warping..and not giving a message..there's a bug.

Dumb question...you're in space when you're trying to warp..right?

I will check the weight as soon as I can

Yes I am I'm space. My main problem is my ship is not flying fast enough I am not even getting to 10 never mind 110.

Can you guys post some weight figures so I can check later against mine
Thanks in advance

That's the menu you want to see to check...you can see mine is fairly heavy and it gets up to 110 no problem...takes it a bit to stop though...as I"m only using directionals for that.

1.9 kT nice

I've found just using the basic starter BA/CV cannon's are enough to handle space drones(when they're working). The drones appear to look for the path of least resistance to warp/gen/core etc...so...I have those at the center of the vessel with 6 cannons surrounding that area above the hull...then just keep the drones at the front of the ship(path of most resistance)...as it's turning speed is fine with the directionals and a single RCS. The drone keeps trying to fly around to come in from the side it gets to close and the cannons smoke it.

I have noticed that you have to reset the turrets everytime you warp though...

You guys are using way to many normal thrusters and not enough directional thrusters. I use 12 directional thrusters 2xtop, 2 each side, 4xbottom(2 front , 2 rear), and 2xfront. and then 4 normal or armored thrusters rear. I use the same set up for my Small vessels and capital vessels and they all fly like a dream and are highly manueverable with good acceleration and stopping power. My Capital ship does 110 in orbit. And I also install 2 generators and two RCS.

ok i hhave checked my main weight and it is 4.23kt at the moment, i only have main propulsion normal thrusters as i cant make large / armoured thrusters im assuming i need advanced constructor for those

And i have confirmed i have 13 Normal thrusters for ship and only getting to 10 not 110
Vondarkmoor Jan 6, 2016 @ 11:52pm
and in responce to mudmax that is my main thrusters i am not including any of the thruster directional as they are for changing directions and would not affect my ability to reach top speed

You need to reach 50m/s to warpjump. If you can not reach it, jumping is not possible.

where are your 13 normal thrusters placed?

Based on weight alone..yours is a little over twice the weight of mine. I have 2 large thrusters for forward motion...2 large thrusters equal 4 normal thrusters..but less power usage. So, you'd need either 4 large thrusters or 8 normal thrusters in the back just for forward motion.

Also - large thrusters only require that you're level 20 and have unlocked them. Taking some screen shots and posting them might help. Placement of thrusters/directionals and a screenshot of the P - screen. F12 is the default screenshot key for steam(I believe).
