Yeah but do you really trust people to remember to shut down cheat engine before they connect to a server?
I've seen multiple posts from people who forgot they were running it get banned by EAH, and the game developers cannot assist with it since it's all done through EAH.

So if people want to do something that will likely get them banned from EAH enabled servers (and any non-EAH server with a good admin team), I suppose this is the advice to give them.
No sympathy for cheaters who find themselves banned or their save games corrupted (also have seen that happen too).

One thing I think we forget is that the OPVs in the game also have their speed capped. Being able to grossly outpace them kinda makes them pointless as "dangers". As it stands, they are relatively easy to outrun if you bump into one when not ready, but if we had even more speed then they would be relatively harmless. So, us having our speed cap somewhat keeps OPVs and drones a menace. Also consider fighting stations in space, running in and out to hit and run would be basically cheatmode if we had even more speed.

Also...its space...its supposed to be big and take a while to travel. Playfields are only so big as it is.
