Remote Control/Ship Recall
The fact the game has been out this long and the dev's have not developed a way for recalling your ship just shows how little they give a flip about people. Nothing is being updated, nothing is getting fixed. This game is an absolute middle finger to people who actually loved it. Devs you need to get to work. Hire more people - do SOMETHING to fix the most BASIC essence of your lazy ass programming. There's no excuse for your BS Anymore. This DLC did nothing but introduce more ♥♥♥♥.

For example you can cut off power to make it land on the planet if it's in the atmosphere, or remotly enable constructors or weapons. But no, no autopilot to you like in NMS.

If you mean some kind of NMS-esque ship summoning mechanic, I don't think anyone has ever asked for that, and I certainly wouldn't want it in the game, since it would trivialize a lot of carrier builds and let you circumvent a lot of dangerous situations.
There's no point to a recall function when the only place your ship can be is wherever you've landed.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Its not really an overwhelmingly compelling wish item for the game... would be nice tho, i suppose.

My ultimate pie in the sky wish is a fusion of Empyrion with X3 ... and ship automation is a hugely significant part of that game.

How do you select the "registry"?

I'd like to see what you are looking at.

Middle tab in the PDA. Filter at the top after you select the registry. then you can choose whatever ship/base you see in the registry. Bottom right is the choices of what you can do, control panel is one of then.

Even a remote control where you can pilot for a certain distance (Remote signal like a drone even) for more severe situations would be absolutely perfect. I mean it's a technologically advanced game based on space travel. You mean to tell me with auto-piloting drones, we can't remote control our own ships ? That's the vibe I am expressing. And I feel there's no reason this issue should be what it is. Best advice was to reach the ship from the menu

I've seen how those autonomous drones fly. I'd rather my ships stay put, thanks.

Why would you need that? Are you referring to the bug when you save in a ship and after loading the save you end outside and far away from the ship? What I did was to build a very basic SV and fly to the ship to retrieve it. The bug is annoying but I suppose I can live with that. It only happens when you save during flight, and knowing that, I usualy save when on the ground.

Maybe they used a teleport and then could not get back, and wanted to call their ship to them. Reasonable, I guess, but not available in this game.

I just assumed that pilots were too worried about getting the "autopilok" hacked. With the "Legacy" faction supposed to be able to do that, I would be too.

The player drone has a max range of 50 meters.
We can use "game logic" to say it can only go 50 meters because our suit doesn't have a strong enough antenna for longer range.

So even if they made vessels have remote control, why would you think we would get any more range than we get with the player drone?
We would still be using the same suit antenna after all.

50 meters isn't going to help with really ANY situation.
If they gave it a longer range then that there isn't much logic on the player drone having such a short range (which they have been pretty determined on not increasing over the years).

The registry access has a range over 50 m.

Logic isn't a requirement for game design decisions, but small drones IRL may be quite weight and volume restricted, so the DRONE antenna may be what limits range rather than the suit antenna. The registry, communicating across vast distance instantly, seems not to be RF communication, like the still communicating Voyager uses, and possibly like the drones in the game use.

You have no business here if you have nothing to add. Take your arrogance and kindly take a long walk off of a short pier.

To everyone else, yes. Pretty much all of it. Bugs, glitches and more. The idea was to put in something that was freaking reasonable to make up for when these things happen. Something that should have been logically implemented. Not even 'autonomous' but just 'remote' would be even more perfect. But I digress, this was answered already as best as one can for what is available.
