I dont have any empyrion servers in that list??

Barracuda, on the top left on your Nitrado page it should tell you the game's IP and port number. You can connect to it directly until it shows up in the list. It can take a little time for that to happen - and only if your install was successful. Try direct connection to IP/port, and if that doesn't work, the install isn't working (which you can fix by doing a Reinstall at the bottom left of the Nitrado page). Pray that it isn't something bigger - I've been battling with Nitrado's tech support for going on a month, now, trying to get an issue resolved. Pakleds have better technical acumen and Klingons have better customer support skills.

Thanks I now have the server up, Im not sure on what settings to do, It says on server list, number of starting planets 4, and playfields 28?

Is this the entire galaxy or just starting area?

I wouldn't change those settings. 28 Playfields is likely max active playfields at once (won't be an issue unless you have a server with 29 people connected, spread across the galaxy). 4 starting planets is normal. You've got a whole galaxy to explore and tear up.

I cant find my server in the list now, It popped up once but not since, do i need to install the dedicated server software on steam to connect using a nitrado server?

No. Just look in your History, it will be there. I wouldn't worry too much about that list.

theres nothing in history?

Then connect by IP and port.

Possible issues I dont see in here yet, a lot of which might not apply to you, its a paste from a post I previously made ages ago..

A program like mackeeper or other anti virus, that removes files from the computer may be deleting your servers .txt because it considers it spam for some reason. I would try to whitelist it if possible.

What is whitelisting an IP address?

Spam filters that come with email clients have both whitelists and blacklists of senders and keywords to look for in emails. If a spam filter keeps a whitelist, mail from the listed email addresses, domains, and/or IP address will always be allowed.

What is a whitelist on Android?

A key aspect of Mobile Application Management (MAM) is Whitelisted apps. Whitelisted apps are applications that your IT departments and MDM admins have deemed as safe for employees to use freely on iPads and iPhones (Apple iOS devices) or Android phones and tablets.

What is an application whitelist?

Application whitelisting is the practice of specifying an index of approved software applications that are permitted to be present and active on a computer system. The goal of whitelisting is to protect computers and networks from potentially harmful applications.Jan 17, 2017

How do I whitelist an IP address?

To whitelist your IP:**Log into RDP (remote desktop).**Go to Start.**Select Administrative Tools.**Click on Windows Firewall With Advanced Security.**Click on Inbound Rules on the left-hand side.**In the middle, click on MSSQL Server or MySQL.**Under the MSSQL Server section, click Properties.**Click the Scope tab

How does whitelisting work?

**Sign in to the Google Admin console.**Click Device management > Mobile > Manage Applications for Android devices.**Click Android apps whitelisted. ... **In the bottom corner, click .**To make sure the app you want to whitelist is approved, click Play Store and find the app in Google Play for Work

What is a blacklisted application?

Application blacklisting, sometimes just referred to as blacklisting, is a network administration practice used to prevent the execution of undesirable programs.

MoSt of the time, a server not showing up on the server list for all to see, is almost always related to the host servers Modem but this is for servers located at the clients home, so playing and hosting..

I would do a google on that SPECIFIC modem, look under it at its sticker, grab the model number and do a very specific search with that modem brand and number, that should bring up a heap of results from other people using that modem.
Thats probably the best place to start trouble shooting the issue.

Also, some modems have a like a dual band, 2.4ghtz and 5ghtz, some networks can get touchy about security issues and will effectively only give a licence to broadcast for 1 minute and that can in effect ''trick'' the user into thinking its an ISP issue when its a security setting issue.
Check IPv4 and IPv6 on your modem.

Be sure your modem has a rule set for the game Empyrion.

NOW, Steam History loss.

You will want to bring back a backup copy of the file at Steam\userdata\<id>\7\remote\serverbrowser_hist.vdf.

Note that if you just replace the favorites list in Steam\userdata\<id>\7\remote\serverbrowser_hist.vdf with your backup and restart Steam, it just gets replaced with the newer version with everything cleared. That's because remotecache.vdf has a hash, time, and date of the newer file and asks Steam for that newer copy when it finds an old copy of our file.

In order to tell Steam that we actually have the newer copy, we'll need to exit Steam and "touch" serverbrowser_hist.vdf so that Steam believes that it was just modified and that it needs to sync with the cloud to upload those changes. To do this, open Command Prompt and type this in to go to the folder that contains serverbrowser_hist.vdf:

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[your id]\7\remote

After we go to the folder, we'll update the "date modified" time to the current time:

copy serverbrowser_hist.vdf /B+ ,,/Y

Start Steam, and you're all set, we hope.

Good luck.
