Is dark faction content in regular games?
I keep trying to play the dark faction start, but the campaign keeps crashing or bugging too bad to continue playing (phasing through walls, oxygen leaves all rooms without a breach). I want to play the content, but im getting sick of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ campaign. If i start a new game (normal mode) will the content be included?

Try the scenario section, there is a DLC related content, it should go without campaign.

aw man, so it is a seperate thing entirely? that sucks, i hope they add a toggle for it.
It asks you if you want to add Dark Faction features when you load a Default Survival game.

The new DLC is very buggy, so you might want to just play the normal game for a bit first to remember how things work before diving into it. It has its own scenario, which is a decent way to learn how it works, but you can also enable the dark faction in a normal survival game as well.

When we say "dark faction content" in a regular game are we just talking the equipment?

Or does the dark spawn actually exist in the galaxy and grow and infect stuff?

All of it, yes. Equipment, dark faction planets, fighting pillars, etc. The whole thing can be enabled in survival.

Just be warned that it's a lot of work to build up the necessary stuff to take on dark pillars effectively, and it will probably spread way too fast to clear it.

It was stated by the devs in the discord that it currently does not spread in vanilla. Doesn't stop a scenario from doing it though.

What is your problem, arent you used to this stability from the vanila Empyrion? Just dont worry, it will get fixed after DLC no. 2 gets out......For the moment they are all focused elsewhere... :-D

I havent played the game a ton, is it not right to get annoyed that a game releasing dlc is still having issues? If you like paying for unfinished crap i could sell you a snowball fort, but it melted a bit

So how does it work in normal survival, then? Are there just a pre-determined number of planets that start with it?

Haven't got that far yet in the normal game, but since the DLC dark faction campaign starts with a star cluster already infected, my *guess* is that the normal game then also starts with that infected star cluster but the infection then just won't spread.

Guessing, not knowing. But seems a reasonable guess as how one might implement the "include dark faction content to your normal game" choice *without* messing up the normal game story line.

Yeah, that seems reasonable. Would definitely address the immediate worry I had after playing the scenario of it being impossible to stop and everything eventually being infected. If it doesn't spread, at least you choose when you want to fight it.

Bit of a shame, though, since the whole terraforming spread aspect was one of the most interesting parts. Just needed to be balanced for survival mode. Might still happen some day.

No idea, just repeating what was said. That's what it looks like though, they are just generated when the map is, and left like that if I had to guess.
